Overview of Liposuction Operation
With liposuction, it is possible to remove fat from many areas such as the chest, hips, arms and neck, including the abdomen, belly area. Different techniques such as vacuum or injection can be used in liposuction. Liposuction is a suitable method for anyone who does not have a systemic health problem, is not pregnant or has just given birth. Before liposuction surgery, patients should be conscious of the operation process and should be prepared for a process that must be carefully managed. During the pre-operative preparation period, various analyzes are made on the patient's body, and the areas to be intervened are clearly determined. Considering the wishes and needs of the patient, it is planned how much and from which area the fat should be taken. In addition to meeting the expectations of the patient before the operation, it is acted in a way that provides the healthiest, most natural and aesthetic appearance for the patient.
How is Liposuction Performed?
Although liposuction surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, local anesthesia may be preferred if the application area is very small. Although the application time varies depending on the area where the procedure is performed, it takes around 1-4 hours. Liposuction surgery is simply performed by collecting fat from incisions made in a tube with vacuum or injection techniques. During the operation, the previously determined excess fat tissue is targeted and care is taken not to damage the surrounding tissues and nerves during the application. In classical liposuction or vaser liposuction applications, liquid is injected inside and the fat tissues are separated from the surrounding tissues by the effect of this liquid. Aspirated adipose tissues are collected from the outside.
What Should Be Considered After Liposuction Operation?
If liposuction is performed under general anesthesia, the patient should rest in the hospital for 1 night. It is normal to experience complaints such as edema, swelling, numbness and pain in the procedure area after the application. These effects will decrease and disappear completely in the weeks following the application. Depending on the size of the area where liposuction is applied, patients can usually return to daily life within 1-2 weeks. Patients should be careful for at least 1 month after the operation. From the end of the first month, the results of the application appear gradually. The results obtained with lifestyle changes adopted after liposuction can be made permanent.
